Food Grade Ingredients

Please read this brief explanation on our Food Grade Ingredients

Using our ingredients in the kitchen

Do we stock ingredients that are food grade?  Yes – quite a lot of our soapy and personal care ingredients cross over into the culinary, BUT...

We are not a food processing facility – we are not licensed to re-pack or sell food!

Therefore, though ingredients such as Coconut Oil, Green Palm Kernel Oil, Sustainable Palm Oil, Macadamia Oil, Cocoa Butter, Citric Acid, Cream of Tartar, Milk Powders, Xanthan Gum and similar items you see listed on food labels are sold by us they are not packed for internal use, but for cosmetic applications.

These ingredients are regulated by government agencies with regards to use internally.

Essential Oils
require a special mention.

It is not legal in Australia to sell and/or promote essential oils for ingestion - this includes their use in lip balm use as this product is ingested.   This is because of the way Essential Oils are regulated in Australia.  Regulations in the USA and other countries are different to Australian regulations.  Though we sell pure, unadulterated Essential Oils, It is not a case of "food grade" or "purity" or “therapeutic” - it is simply not permitted to sell and use them for internal use in Australia.

We are NOT a registered food re-packer or supplier.  The premises of food handlers are inspected and regulated quite differently, and strictly controlled.   So we cannot recommend you ingest our food grade ingredients, however if you chose to, the responsibility is yours.

Yes, our Coconut Oil, Citric Acid and Cocoa Butter (to name a few) are food grade, but you would need to purchase a sealed 15-25kg/L pack for the contents to remain at this standard.

We hope this clarifies things for you!

Happy Soaping!
