Make a Duckie or Fish Pond
Our Mini Squirter Duckies have always been popular, and now they have a proper pond to float in! Our new Duckie Pond Mould is also excellent for other embed toys and can be piled up with Fruity Melt & Pour Soaps to make a Fruit Bowl! Appealing to all ages, a little touch of whimsy makes most of us smile. Note: All our Duckies are yellow (no pink ducks) Now we have Squirt Fish too!
Step One: Warning: Be careful of Fingers!! Take a piece of White MP Base and grate approximately 1 cup of Soap into curly shreds (just like grating cheese) – use the large side of the grater as pictured in the finished soap above. Set this aside. Step Two: Dice some of the Clear Soap Base. Place into microwave proof jug and melt soap in microwave or double boiler (or use cooktop on LOW). Scent and colour the soap as usual, then pour into Mould cavity until approximately ¾ full. This means the level will be approximately ½ cm from the top of the mould - you'll fill this part next. Step Three: Once a thin skin forms on the surface of the soap, position your duck. Push gently on the duck to seat into the soap. Spritz the edges of the duck and surface of the soap Alcohol and finish pouring the soap to top edge of mould. The Alcohol helps soap layers to stick together and *glue* in the duck. Don’t breathe the fumes as they are ick, and don’t worry, that smell quickly dissipates and won’t affect your fragrance. Step Four: Before the top soap layer has set, it is time to add the white “foam”. Spritz the foamy pieces, and sprinkle carefully into position Step Five: Now melt a small piece of White Soap Base, spritz the White “Foam” shreds and then drizzle the white soap “here and there” over the shreds. Drizzling the shreds with more White Soap helps “glue” them into place.
Don’t forget to wrap your Duck Ponds in Cello Bags, or perhaps a tall elaborate cello cone and glitzy ribbon is more your style!
