Using Single Cavity Creative Moulds
|
These economical, strong Moulds have been creatively crafted for Bath Bombs, Foaming Bath Bombs, Bubble Bars and Massage Bars as well Soap (both Cold Processed and Melt & Pour).
The range of Single Cavity Moulds come in a range of profiles, some of which are rounded, and these need to be settled in a stable position before pouring soap into them. See below for info on how to do this. The Rectangle shaped Moulds sit firmly on a flat surface. This Soft Half Round Designs in the Small Size also suits Massage Melts and can have exfoliants included in the mixture. They have a “soft dome” profile, which means they are not a complete half sphere, but a half round. If you wish to make a full rounded Sphere shape Bath Bomb you will need two moulds and then cut away the bevelled edges (if your design has this edge) so that you can press the two halves firmly together. We recommend you nip off the corners as they can be a little sharp when cut.

If you have never made Bubble Bars, you’ll find a sample recipe in our Recipe Formulary listed in the Bath Products section, or alternatively we supply another when you purchase SLSA, or more are in our Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Confusion Booklet which can be found listed on our Books Pages. For Bubble Bars:
Unmoulding Bubble Bars: Allow to harden for a half hour or so, and then using the end of a flexible, plastic spatula or scraper, begin to ease the Bubble Bar out. A sharp “tap” on the bench will allow the Bubble Bar to release and pop out onto the benchtop
Unmoulding Bath Bombs: After REALLY FIRMLY PRESSING the near dry mixture into the mould, only wait a couple of minutes before unmoulding. Hold the mould with finger and thumb on each corner on the side nearest to you, and give a firm/sharp “tap” on the bench on the opposite edge of the mould. This will allow the Bath Bomb to carefully drop out benchtop
Note: It is is the Cocoa Butter in the Bubble Bar that allows them to harden up nicely, if you substitute Shea or Mango Butter, the Bars may not unmould as easily.
