Recipes Using Our Soap Noodles Unfortunately, our Soap Noodles are no longer available, but you are welcome to continue using our recipes! Soap Noodles are for those wanting to make their own Soap, but want to avoid handling Caustic Soda - or for those who want something a little more relaxing than Cold Process Soaping! Our Soap Noodles are made from Palm and Palm Kernel Oils and can be incorporated into regular Cold Process Soap, Melt & Pour Soap, or "re-batched" into your own creative soaps.
Soap Noodles should be crushed into a granule or powder before use, this is soooo easy as they are quite friable when crushed - you can use a strong plastic bag and whack with a chopping board or mallet or you can even use a food processor. Then they are heated until squishy and mixed with other goodies then spooned into moulds to make your own Handmade Soaps! The pictured soaps are made using our Soap Moulds but you can also use other items such as jelly moulds and some bakeware. Liquid Colours work best, either Liquid dispersions or Melt & Pour Soap Liquid Colours. Mostly there is no need to grease the moulds, but if using containers from the kitchen, it might be wise to give them a quick spray with a non-stick cooking spray. We do not normally recommend this, but for a rebatch you shouldn't have any rancidity issues.

Allow to cool for a little while so that it is partially set up and cool enough to touch. Take handfuls and roll into balls and shapes with your hands.

1. For this one, heat the Chamomile Water and add the Tea Bags and allow to infuse – just like making a cup of Tea!

If you love flowers, do try these soaps! These are moulded in your hands, and then the moist soap is rolled in dried flower petals – try Lavender Buds, Calendula Petals, or even some dried green herbs you have growing, even parsley, fined chopped. The main thing is to ensure the botanicals are fully dried before you roll the moist soaps in them. If you are going to us Sandalwood Powder or any culinary spices, take care during the first use as they may irritate the skin. We suggest you wear disposable gloves for this recipe

Tip: Add the Beads last. Don't overstir when combining the Beads, just gently fold through and then mould immediately.

There really isn't any recipe for this! Once you have made your noodle soaps you may well have a few noodles over, and this is just an easy idea to use them up!
Easy Instructions for Making Soap with Soap Noodles 1. Crush Soap Noodles and place in Microwave safe bowl or jug, leaving plenty of space for stirring 2. Add emollient additives such as Milk, Floral Waters, Distilled Water, Oils or Butters and stir through 3. Microwave on Medium or Medium High for 1 minute in bursts, stirring in between. Sometimes I like to give the mixture a blast with the stick blender as this creates a lovely smooth texture in the finished soap 4. If using dry additives such as Clay, Loofah, Pumice and Ground herbs, add these now 5. When Soap Noodles, Shea Butter, Milk etc are melted and blended, work fairly quickly adding the colour drop by drop and the Fragrance and stir well to combine 6. Spoon into the mould cavities - sprinkling in dried flower petals if desired 7. Pat down with a flat spatula and place in a cool place, or even the freezer to set. Place the mould into the freezer for 10 - 20 minutes for best results. I find the quick cooling creates a nicer texture to the finished bars, but don't allow to freeze! 8. If the soap has cooled too much before you finishing moulding up, you may need to re-heat for 1 minute to make it more workable 9. For hand moulded soaps, you'll find the mixture quite light to work with. I like to wear gloves, work quickly and lightly. As you can see from the picture, the Hicote Petal Soaps with the Calendula are a little too fluffy as they were a bit warm when I mould them!
