Easy Whipped Foamy Scrub

This is an easy recipe for a Whipped Cleansing Scrub using our Foamy Bath Butter Base. This has a mousse-like texture, never separates and rinses clean. The result is a whipped, light texture cleansing cream.

I have added our Bentonite Beads to the base (these come in Blue, Pink and Mint). I use about 1 teaspoon to 100g of scrub, but this can be adjusted to suit yourself. For a facial scrub, I find that is plenty, but if you would like a light body scrub you may like to use more than this. As you use the product you will find the friction dissolves the clay beads in the action of gentle exfoliation.

This looks fabulous packaged in a Wide Neck Tub as pictured. I scented the Mint Green Bentonite Bead batch with Pineapple Cilantro and Melon Tea.

This recipe uses 400g of Base which will whip up nearly double in volume

What you need

How to make

  • Measure out the Base and place into a medium to large jug/bowl
  • Using an electric whisk, set the mixer on low and begin to "cream" the bath butter
  • Increase to high as the base begins to fluff - similar to egg white
  • Now add Fragrance or Essential Oils and continue to whip
  • Increase the mixing speed until it is really whipping the scrub and its fluffy
  • Add Bentonite Beads and mix through on low, or stir with a spatula or spoon
  • Spoon into Bail Jars or wide necked Tubs and leave until set

Variations:

Finely ground loofah for Facial Application or Shredded Loofah for Body Scrubs

Natural Clays if you would like it to be a little drawing and more deeply cleansing

For a natural yummy buttery colour, try using some Infused Carrot Oil for an apricot coloured scrub

If using Vanilla based scents, don't forget they will discolour the soap from a deep cream to a dark brown, so take this into account when planning your scrub
