Lemon and Lime Splice CP Soap

We made this one in winter, as we felt like a blast of summery freshness, and so this soap is scented with Lime Essential Oil and Lemon Verbena Fragrance, and coloured with Brite Yellow for CP

• 100g Cocoa Butter
• 600g Olive Oil
• 200g Macadamia Oil
• 400g Palm Kernel Oil

• 180g Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda/Lye)
• 400 mls/g of Distilled Water

• We used 40ml (approx 7 teaspoons) of Blended Fragrance to give this batch its zing:
  20ml Lime Essential Oil and 20ml Lemon Verbena Fragrance

  We coloured our batch with Brite Yellow for CP and used Titanium Dioxide into the entire base

If you are a beginner, we recommend make this soap just one colour. If you are more advanced, you can follow the instructions below and swirl (marbling) your batch with a contrasting colour.

• Prepare all ingredients and line the mould
• Set aside a small container or icecream bucket for the swirl colour (the darker yellow) In this case, we used Brite Yellow for CP to colour, with some Titanium Dioxide in the base
• Bring soap to thin trace, mix through the Titanium Dioxide and then remove approximately 1-2 cups of soap (I use a plastic ice cream container for this)
• Colour the soap in the ice cream container to a deep shade of Brite Yellow for CP
• Colour the main pot of soap with a lighter tone of the Brite Yellow for CP
• Mix scent blend thoroughly in the main soap pot portion, and pour half of this soap into the mould
• Then pour the darker portion in the icecream container over the first pour in the mould, controlling where it will sit in the mould
• Finish the pour with the remaining soap from the main pot
• Use a chopstick to swirl the colour to achieve a marbled or swirled effect - drag the colour from end to end in two sweeping motions. (See full instructions for Swirling Soap here).
