Herbal Bath Bag Recipes

Herbal Bath Bags

By using a Herbal Bath Bag, you can luxuriate in a warm tub full of oats and herbs and not be left with little bits sticking to you and the bath when you pull the plug!

Soothing
(for irritated or sensitive skin)
2 cups of Whole Oats or Oatmeal
1/2 cup Lavender Flowers
1/2 cup Calendula Petals
1 tablespoon Natrasorb
1 tsp Jojoba Oil
Lavender essential oil if desired

Bedtime
(for a relaxing bath after a full day)
2 cups of Whole Oats or Ground Oatmeal
1/4 cup Chamomile Flowers
1/2 cup Lemon Balm
1/2 cup Lavender Flowers
1/4 cup Passionflower (if you have them)
1/4 cup Rose Petals
1/2 tsp Lavender Essential Oil if desired

Reviving
(for a lift after work or after gardening)
2 cups of Whole Oats or Oatmeal
1/4 cup Peppermint or Spearmint Leaves
1/4 cup Rosemary Leaves
1/2 cup Lavender Flowers
1/4 cup Rose Petals
1/2 tsp Lemon Essential Oil if desired

Mix botanicals together well. With the Soothing recipe, sprinkle the Jojoba and Essential Oil onto the Natrasorb and mix well again. For the other recipes, just sprinkle the essential oil over the mixture and then mix through well. It is a good idea to spot test first.

Spread this out onto a tray and alow to to rest for several hours or overnight. Place approximately one heaped tablespoon in a Large Heat Sealable Tea Bag and gently press the seam with a medium/hot iron to seal.

I prefer to store my herbal bath bags in an airtight glass jar until use and when ready to bath, just throw one into your running bath and allow the herbs and oats to infuse for 5 minutes or so and then discard the bag.
