This creamy white shea butter is just superb and has a neutral smell - we use it in all our creams. Our Shea Butter is obtained by cold pressing the seeds of the karite tree (and it is then refined).
Shea butter has been used by people in Africa for many years to nourish skin and hair and to ward off the effects of the sun and aging. Whipped Shea is a wonderful hair treatment that adds moisture and gloss.
The Shea Butter is physically decolourised using organic clays (diatomaceous earth, aka "bleaching clays") to remove colour and impurities. The odour is removed via injection of steam to blow-off the volatile oils which contribute to shea butter's sharp, objectionable odour. There are no chemicals used to process our shea butter.
Our shea butter will start to melt on contact with the skin, making it an excellent choice for lip balms and lotion bars.
Suggested Usage Levels: Lotions & Creams: 3-5% Balms: 5-100% Bar Soaps: 3-6%.
