This lovely soap can be left with just its honey fragrance, or try one of the suggestions in the recipe. The White Tea & Ginger Fragrance won't discolour the orange colour, or Beeswax & Honey provides a floral note that blends well with natural honey. Both provide a gentle fragrance, as do citrus Essential Oils.

  • 400g Coconut Oil
  • 100g Castor Oil
  • 650g Olive Oil
  • 100g Shea Butter

    Total Fluids = 430g

  • 290g Distilled Water
  • 140g Pureed Carrots or Tinned Baby Carrots (or juice)

  • 178g Caustic Soda (Lye, Sodium Hydroxide)

  • 3 Tablespoons Liquid Honey

  • 30ml (6 teaspoons) White Tea & Ginger OR Beeswax & Honey Fragrance
or 30ml (6 teaspoons) Orange or Mandarin or Tangerine Essential Oil

OR you can leave the fragrance out altogether and just let the honey gently fragrance the soap

    Method:

For how to make Cold Processed Soap from Scratch, please see our Basic Cold Process Soapmaking Instructions Page

    To Make this Recipe:

      1. Have Mould lined and ready to go.
      2. Prepare Caustic and Water - TAKING EXTRA CARE as this is concentrated
      3. While this cools prepare carrots, blend through and then add the honey to the carrots
      4. Follow usual Soap making instructions.
      5. When the Soap is at light trace, introduce the carrot mixture into the soap and blend until smooth
      6. Now add fragrance/essential oils and blend through
      7. Now pour this into the mould (because of the honey it is best to use a tray mould to avoid overheating)
      7. Cover lightly until it gels and then unmould when soap returns to room temperature
      8. Slice and allow to cure
