I haven't made Bath Truffles for ages, and it's always fun to look back and then update formulas! What is a Bath Truffle? Ours are in between a Bath Melt (100% oils) and a Bath Milk Powder (dry ingredients). We just combine the two and you have these cute little bath treats! You can make them large in our Chill Pill or other moulds, or as we have using the Soy Tarts Mould, making adorable guest sized Bath Truffles - your very own home spa goodies!
To use, drop one or two small Truffles into the Bath under the running tap. As they are chock full of moisturising Cocoa Butter and Oils take care you don't slip when stepping in and out of the bath. Lie back and enjoy! You can also use these for foot soaks if you don't have a bath tub, the small size are perfect!
- Small Coffee Grinder - If grinding the salt to powder (for smooth melts)
- Sieve, useful but not essential
- 1 Litre Mixing bowl or jug
- Small Pyrex jug
- Spatula, mixing spoons and small spoon
- Old paint brush
Assemble ingredients and equipment ready to go
Measure and sieve the powders into the large jug or bowl
Mix together with spatula or mixing spoon
Measure the Cocoa Butter into the small jug and melt in the microwave
When melted add the Shea Oil, Almond Oil and set aside
Add the Coconut Cream Fragrance Oil to the melted Cocoa Butter and stir to combine
Carefully pour the liquid oils into the dry ingredients jug
Mix together until the mixture is well mixed and of fine texture and holds together
Using a small spoon pack the mixture into the mould cavities, pressing each one down firmly
Place straight into the freezer for 15 minutes to ensure they set up nice and quickly
Place some paper towel on the bench ready for unmoulding
Remove from the freezer, allow the mould to return to room temperature and then invert the mould and press out the truffles.
They will pop straight out onto the bench (if they don't they aren't cold enough)
Refill the moulds immediately with the mixture until it's all used
If it has set up, just zap it in the microwave for a quick blast to make it pliable again
I used our Chill Pill Moulds for some of the mixture too, making large truffles which can be broken into two pieces
Dip the paint brush into the New Gold Mica and brush across the surface of the truffles
Leave overnight before wrapping or popping into jars.
NOTE: Very hot weather and Bath Truffles are not the best of friends!
